Detecting Radiation in Our Radioactive World
Learn how to use Geiger counters to detect radiation from background and manmade sources. Teachers who complete the workshop receive a FREE Geiger counter, Teacher Handbook with ideas for classroom use, and instructions and information about radioactive sources that can be safely used in the classroom. Designed for middle school and high school, these materials are applicable to all areas of science instruction.
Workshop locations and dates will be posted here as they are scheduled and additional information added as it becomes available.
This popular workshop program includes classroom experiments and demonstrations crucial to making classroom learning come to life.
Educational materials developed by ANS volunteers and staff are provided free to classroom teachers. The items include booklets, supplemental handouts, posters, and other instructional tools. Materials are developed for students ranging from elementary through young adult level.
